COURSE DESCRIPTION

Elevation of Bozeman 4900 feet.

Swim 1.5K
Two Loop swim at East Gallatin Recreation Area. Wetsuits will be optional.

Bike 40K
The bike segment will be an out and back. Look for a relatively flat and fast course paralleling the beautiful Bridger Mountains. Exit East Gallatin Recreation Area heading North on Manley Road. Turn left (west) on Mcllhantan Rd and left again on Sypes Canyon. At Springhill Rd, turn right (north) and continue to Reese Creek Rd where the turn around point is located. Follow the same route back to the East Gallatin Recreation Area. Helmets are mandatory.

Run 10K
The run course will consist of the dirt trails in the East Gallatin Recreation Area, Cherry Creek and Bridger Creek Golf Course Trail System. 90% will be on evenly compacted dirt, 10% on pavement.

AID STATIONS

There will be 1 aid station on the Bike Course at the turn around and at least 2 aid stations on the run course. We encourage you to start the bike with 1 full water bottle. If you use gels or fuel bars please do not litter the packaging on the course. Pack them out or use flasks for the gel.

Water & Heed (electrolyte replacement- Hammer Nutrition products) will be available at Aid Stations. During the run there will be Hammer Gel.

TRANSITION AREAS
The start, finish and transition area will all be located at the main parking area inside the Recreation Area.

BIKE SUPPORT
Bangtail Bikes will be on hand race morning for last minute adjustments. They will not be able to service everyone or do extensive repairs. It’s your responsibility to make sure your equipment is in good working order.

Race Morning from 7:15am-8:15am at race site.

RULES

Swim
All swimmers must wear cap. Seed yourself according to ability. You may hang onto rescue boats but make no forward progress with assistance. Keep buoys on your right.

No nudity in transition area, use changing tent if needed.

Bike
Helmets are required to be worn. Race number must be affixed to bike frame as to be visible. Stay to the right except for passing. The roads are open to traffic although traffic will be light. Obey all course marshals, if they see you impeding traffic the will pull athletes from course. No littering on any part of the race course, please respect our beautiful Montana.

Run
Wear race numbers on the front as to be seen at all times. Run on the right, pass on the left. No pets or headphones.

Park Rules
Please leave dogs at home. We’d all like to have them there but the East Gallatin Recreation area doesn’t allow dogs. The city of Bozeman grants the permits to hold this race, let not jeopardize it for everyone. Thanks.

POST RACE PARTY
Plan on sticking around after you’re finished for a post-race Barbeque and beverages during the awards ceremony. East Gallatin Recreation Area is a great park of kids and spectators. Bring the family down and enjoy a great day in Bozeman.

DIRECTIONS TO RACE START FROM DOWNTOWN BOZEMAN

From North 7th go North over the interstate, 1 block, then turn east (at light) on Griffin Dr. Crossing the railroad track turn north on Manley. You’ll see the lake.

From Downtown Bozeman or Fleet Feet, you can take North Rouse to Griffin Dr. Turn West and before you go over the railroad tracks turn North on Manley.
